Review on Terrifier

Terrifier is one of those movies that are not for the weak, would only recommend if you are a fan of gore and slashers. Art the clowns is the main antagonist for this series, he doesn't speak but rather expresses himself with facial expressions. He is characterized in a black and white clown outfit, which could symbolize the black and white world the clown lives in, and he is found carrying a bag full of killing tools. On Halloween night Art comes out to terrify a group of girls, Tara, Victoria, and Dawn. Tara and Victoria are sisters and they decide to go out and have fun on Halloween night with their friend Dawn. They first encounter the clown at a diner where they took him for a joke. They started taking pictures and talking to him and it visibly made the clown upset. From that point on the three girls were about to have the worst nights of their lives, because you do not mess with Art.

Terrifier remains as one of the best movies to put on for Halloween weekend, but again I would not recommend this movie to anyone who has a weak stomach and doesn't like gore. This movie is about as typical as you can get with your classic horror movie slashers. Art completely terrorizes not only the main protagonists but anyone that cross paths with the clown. He shows zero remorse and is easily the highlight of the entire movie. The acting was decent and the plot progressed nicely, it also had my heart racing from scene to scene. That was about it for the positives, from a critical standpoint this movie is nothing near "decent". Although the plot had a good direction I would be lying if I said it was a good one. Majority of the movie was Art killing off random people and slowly picking at the main group of girls. This movie doesn't really do anything unique for the genre and can almost be viewed as a knockoff Friday the 13th since Art is virtually invincible.

With all that in consideration this is a good recommendation if you are hosting a Halloween movie night party, your guest should not be bored at all. But the lack of substance in the plot makes it hard to rate this movie highly, I give it a 3/10.
