The Lighthouse

 The Lighthouse is a 2019 film by Robert Eggers and it stars Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe. This movie takes place in the 1890s on an island close to New England. The two lighthouse keepers who go by Thomas Howard (Robert Pattinson) and William Dafoe (Thomas Wake) are maintaining their respective lighthouse. While on the island the 2 lighthouse keepers start to mentally go insane since they have been working on the island. They start to see hallucinations and fear that they will never step foot on a different set of grass.

This movie is dark and its not scary in a way that most would imagine. There are no "scary monsters" its only 2 lighthouse keepers doing there job. What this movie does well in is exploring the human psyche and loneliness can mentally deteriorate a mans mental state. Dafoe's character was the first one to fall under the madness and soon after Robert Pattinson character falls into the mental trap. I personally think the shots in this movie were beautiful and the black and white aspect added more to the overall depth.

With amazing acting and strong performances from the 2 leads its hard to not enjoy this movie from a critical standpoint. There are very few weaknesses I can say but I can't deny the unoriginality in this film. The plot is pretty predictable and just builds off the men's hallucinations, for that I give this movie a 7/10.

Barbarian is movie directed by Zach Cregger, which debuted in 2022. This movie follows Tess, Keith, and AJ as our three main characters. Tess and Keith book the same Airbnb due to a technology error, and AJ is the one who owns the property. AJ gets a call that he is being fired from his line of work and decides to pay his Airbnb a visit so he can sell it and pocket as much money as possible. Tess and Keith are already booked in the Airbnb and during their time there they get locked inside the basement. Tess and Keith eventually run into a monster that ends of taking Keith further into the basement. Tess runs and eventually runs into AJ who is attempting to cleanup the property for selling. She begs him to come with her so they can go save Keith. Tess and AJ head back into the basement only to find out more horrid truths about the house they are staying in. Review on Terrifier 3

 Terrifier 3 is the 3rd installment of Damien Leone's Terrifier franchise, it has been confirmed that a 4th and final movie is in the works and will be released sometime in the near future. This movie follows the aftermaths of the second movie after Sienna and her brother Jonathan survive Art the Clown's malicious attacks. Five years have gone by and Sienna has been in and out of therapy and Jonathan has started college. The holidays are coming around and Sienna flew down to visit her Aunt and Uncle, and fortunately for Jonathan his college is in the same city as his relatives.
